Celebrate New Year’s Eve!

Wow…another year gone in a blink!

I don’t know about you but I LOVE starting a New Year.

It begins with a reflection of the past year and what I’ve learned and would like to improve upon…then planning my New Years goals…and making my New Year Resolutions.

Last night I printed out the FREE resources that I mentioned previously that can be found at www.thecompoundeffect.com …no I’m not a sales person for Success Magazine. :) just a huge fan of The Compound Effect! One of the tools is a Goal Designing sheet so go grab your copy and make 2011 your BEST year yet!

This morning I spent time writing out the list of items that I need for the cleanse that I plan to start tonight when our New Year’s celebration is finished. This will help jump start my New Year’s Resolution to take control of my eating habits and eliminate some of the damage I’ve done during the holidays…too much indulging in high calorie food and sweets!  Tonight is likely to be more temptation to indulge so I’ll drink a protein shake before the party.

So here are some of the New Year Resolution Tips I’ll be using this year to ensure that I WILL accomplish my goals for the New Year:

Small pocket note pad – my tracker… to write down everything and I mean everything that I put in my mouth! If you bite it write it! I’ll also be logging daily exercise, and every cent that I spend.  Darren Hardy attributes the majority of his success to this one small technique. Don’t just think it ink it! Studies show that you dramatically increase your chances of success if you write your goals down and track them.

12 month at a glance Calendar: I’ll be putting an X on each day that I complete my goal so that I can see my progress at a glance and I won’t be tempted to break the chain…got this idea from Seinfeld…he told a writer that is what he did to force himself to write everyday…the premise is if you start with taking things one day at a time and stay focused…each day you’ll be adding to the momentum and you’ll be able to look at the chain forming on your calendar.  Pretty cool huh? Remember it takes 21 days to start to form a new habit.

Get An Accountability Partner - you are much more likely to succeed if you have someone to help you stay accountable and cheer you on!  I’m planning to start a diary as one of my pages on my blog…which is somewhat intimidating…but definate incentive to live up to what I intend to accomplish.

Here’s the formula for Success:

Small – smart choices + consistency + time = radical differences!

The slightest changes in your daily routine can dramatically alter the outcomes in your life.  So let’s get started!

Cheers to making 2011 your best year yet!
