Our world is extremely competitive; people are often fighting just to keep their heads above water, get their fair share, increase their income. and achieve their definition of success.
Do we even ask ourselves what it is that we consider success, or why we consider it success, or if what we’re chasing is worthy of the time invested, time that we can’t ever replace? Not asking and answering these questions could get us lost in the crowd with everyone else doing the exact same thing.
Can Giving Increase Your Success and Income?
It might surprise you to learn that there’s another way to go about things when it comes to increasing success and it starts with five powerful laws that we all need to know and practice if we want to achieve true success and increase our income as a result.
Meet Joe
Joe is one of the main characters in a book I recently read called the “The Go-Giver”
Joe is an ambitious young man, described by colleagues as a real ‘go-getter‘. Joe is struggling to make his quarterly sales target (I can relate!) and he only has one week to close on a huge account that he’s been working on for quite some time.
Joe is desperate
He asks an older colleague named Gus if he can help by providing him with the contact information of a ‘Big Wheel’ consultant that he recently heard about; someone called the ‘Chairman’ or ‘Pindar’, who Joe hopes can help him land the account that his office has nicknamed the ‘BIG Kahuna’ before his quarterly sales deadline that is now only a week away.
Joe is surprised!
Not only does Gus have the phone number, but a cheerful lady named Brenda answers the phone on the first ring when Joe calls to make an appointment with ‘the Chairman’. Brenda shocks Joe by telling him that he can come by on Saturday morning at 8 am to meet with him,
Joe wonders if she has him mixed up with someone else and asks if she knows that this is his first meeting with ‘the chairman’. She tells Joe “of course”, you’ve heard about his ‘Trade Secrets’ and want to learn about them! Brenda goes on to say that ‘he’ will meet with you one time and future meetings will depend on your agreement to the terms, which “the old man” (her title!) will cover on Saturday.
Meeting “the Old Man”
Saturday morning comes and Joe meets Pindar (aka…the old man/chairman) at his stone mansion and this begins the intriguing, challenging, and inspiring journey with Pindar, who teaches Joe the ‘Five Laws of Stratospheric Success’
The book is a short, enjoyable read, that contains a powerful message; one that will teach you a surprisingly simple, alternative set of success principles built on giving and adding value to others.
I’m confident that the 5 Laws of Stratospheric Success will have a powerful impact on your business and personal life!
The Law of Value
Your real worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.
Before thinking about how much you will make, first, ask yourself; Does this serve, benefit, or help the other person?
A great business delivers exceptional value. When your main focus is on giving value as a way of life, the money will naturally flow.
The Law of compensation
Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.
If you want more success then find more people to serve! 🙂
The Law of Influence
Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.
Build strong relationships by watching out for the other person, focusing 100% on helping them with their goals and with their needs.
Don’t keep track of how much you have done for others or how much they may have gained from your help. The beauty of the Law of Influence is that when you add value to others freely, with NO strings attached, NO expectation of getting something in return, people are naturally attracted to you, like you and want to help you succeed. You essentially build a team of personal ambassadors looking for ways to help you.
Givers attract like a magnet!
The Law of authenticity
The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.
Care about others and be a friend
We all crave genuine connections and relationships. Social Media is proof of that!
The best gift you can offer someone is you; simply be yourself, be real, and don’t pretend to be someone you’re not. Nothing is as effective or valuable as being authentic, honest, and sincere.
The law of receptivity
The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.
This is the hardest of the 5 laws for me. I love to give but have a hard time receiving. I’m working on that one!
Here’s a simple way you can practice receiving…the next time someone gives you a compliment, a gift, or offers to buy you lunch, simply accept it graciously by saying “thank you” with a big smile on your face.
After the original book was published, readers started to share how they used the 5 laws to turn around their businesses with more sales and happier customers, improve their marriages and parenting. Go to http://thegogiver.com for more details and to get a copy of the book and a free printable of the 5 Laws of Stratospheric Success
I’d love to hear from you with stories of how the 5 laws have increased your success and improved relationships.
Cheers to your stratospheric success!
